So the dust has settled following Barefoot Festival, it’s now time to get back on with local shows!
We have 2 this weekend, with The Criterion tonight!
The Criterion are celebrating a Hop festival this weekend, full of exclusive real ales and ciders, craft beer and all the goodness of authentic alcohol!
It’s a popular place for beer drinkers, and often host live music to entertain the flatulent crowds.
Tonight, me and George will each be doing half hour solo sets to kick it off, with chilled out jazz, swing, blues and folk. If you haven’t seen or heard George Mitchell’s solo material yet, come down tonight! He’ll be doing a fair few I imagine.
It’ll be followed up by an hour set from the two of us, bringing up the energy with gyp-hop, swing stomp and funky goodness! All for free entry, of course.
Tomorrow (Saturday 5th August) will see us performing in the quaint beer garden of The Soundhouse. Doing a short half hour/40 minute set of pre-watershed tunes, expect the rare major key originals to appear like Baby Don’t You Cry and Autumn Land!
The all day gig is celebrating Greg Poole’s success with managing the venue, as he is now off to find a new adventure.
He’s had an exciting few years, with the reuniting of a band behind his spectacular original songs (which he’ll be performing, with a full band, tomorrow night) and appearing a fair few times on BBC Introducing Stoke. The event brings together some of Leicester’s finest artists to see him off, with Dedbeats, Ben Casey, Mikey Kerslake, Fullfathom5, Naomi Perera, Thomas Iliffe (The Jav’lins), and JSP, with more to be announced!
The entire day & night is FREE entry, so don’t miss an act! Get down early and enjoy your day & night in true style!
For now, that’s all from me. I’ll see you tonight, or tomorrow, or some time very soon! And remember, you can always keep up to date by subscribing to updates or checking out the live shows page!
